Here at Durant & Co we here all the time, how people have enough savings to last them three months of running their house. With Statutory Sick Pay being £99.35 per week, how long could you afford to be off work for?

 

Income Protection is a policy that provides a regular income if you are unable to work because of sickness or disability and comes in many varieties and can pay out up to 70% of your income monthly.

You can have it on a short term basis, paying out for 1,2 or may be 5 years, or you can have long term Income Protection, which could potentially pay out for what would have been the rest of your working career, depending on why you cannot work.

We can include a deferred period, with many employers offering full sick pay for a fixed amount of time, reduced sick pay for another fixed term and then SSP after that, we can staircase the policy to top up your income throughout each stage.
